AH Gold price before the closing

Seems too good to be true!

Right before the final days of AH, gold price started to rise dramatically.

As of now (Feb 24 2014), it is over 2€ for 50M.

It has been rising for several last weeks constantly,
the record so far was this Sunday when it touched € 2,17 . . .
The situation is similar at all other gateways.

We expect the peak the last weekend before the Feb 14th,
which is Feb 8 and 9. Shall it be nice goodbye to AH after all!

Ever wanted a party of five? [bug]

Have you ever asked yourself, how it would felt if more allies joined you in the eternal war against the forces of Hell? Well . . .

Earlier today, during regular act 1 farming, we have come across a really funny situation - for a moment, there were five members in a party -

Can I has moar in my party?

The fifth player never exactly did anything, was just afk hanging in Tristram for like 10 seconds. After that, error message appeared in the log, saying something like "This player cannot enter the game, because he is connecting from another realm."

We do believe that this bug is somehow connected to undergoing closed beta RoS testing, the servers probably gone little bit crazy that time. But was fun!

Lets see if there are more surprises coming with open beta, before the 2.0 patch. Looking forward to some refreshment in meantime.
In future, we would like to see some kind of arena surivaval-challenge mode, similar to uber boss fights - where could 6-8players go for it... But Blizzard was rather skeptical of those concepts lately.

Dear Blizzard, give us a reason to play, please

An impossible dialog.

Dear Blizzard,
if you ever read this, which I doubt, please note that I like D3 very much. But is it that there hasn't been anything new in past 3 months (1.08 isn't really a patch, as it only fixed internal bugs)? Obviously, everything is focus to the RoS release, but there's probably more than half a year till that.

What are we supposed to do in meantime? Paragon ain't helping anything, and anyone who cared for that already got (multiple) P100 heroes. Gold is virtually worthless, it is not even profitable to sell it for $. Everyone who wanted to has his own Hamburger and Spectrum. What should be our goal then? So at least, Blizzard, do this little things to help us have some fun now -

  • Please give us an alternative to the Festering - Leoric's - Fields - Crypt - Hollow run. It's boring, but none of other areas makes any farming sense. (not that farming is anyhow useful, as lvl63 items will be total crap compared to lvl70)
  • Make followers useful. 20K DPS, really? Not even enough supporting skill to main char stats. Give them more weapon bonus.

  • Let enviroment traps do more damage. They are not even funny this way.
  • Fix AH interface. More options, better filtering, more responsive. Yes, it's getting close, btu exactly that is the reason to fix it, as many people will try to use it to the max as long as it's ONLINE.
  • Three words: Waypoints thru Acts
  • Create more achievements, with more sigils awards.
  • Give us a reason to go for Bosses. Both Uber and standard. Hellfire ring is rubbish and yellow drops are a joke compared to elites and champs.
  • Cut off the crap legendaries. Yes, this will be solved with LOOT 2.0, but it means no sooner than with Ros. Finding a leg is no more a thrill, as you know in advance it will be Frostburn Gauntlets or Tzo Krin's Gaze.
  • At least basic skill balancing. I know that's naive demand, as there's big balancing coming in RoS, but why not to have some fun with underused skill now?

All this changes take nearly zero time to process, don't  make excuse of possible RoS development hindering.
Comment with your own ides, I will insert them into this post.

Please reddit or +1 this, so Blizzard can see it, optimally while the Blizzcon is still going on.
What will you do next? An option is to join our Screenshot Art Initiative . . .

Arcane Nova + Deep Freeze MP 10 crit hits farming

Guide to Diablo III critical mass wizard - but without boring Energy Twister and Explosive Blast. Instead, using Arcane Orb, which is more targetable and also works in larger radius. Key to this build is enough mana - that is provided by Shock Pulse [Lighting Affinity] and also by mana on crit bonus from Chantodo's Will weapon.

Honestly, I've never got to like the Twister + Blast combo, takes forever to kill anything  and involves lots of clicking. With the Orb, you are more free, and yes, you can also run as you like! Guide to Diablo III critical mass wizard, patch 1.08 - but without boring Energy Twister and Explosive Blast. Instead, using Arcane Orb, which is more targetable and also works in larger radius.

near perfect
Key to this build is enough mana - that is provided by Shock Pulse [Lighting Affinity] and also by mana on crit bonus from Chantodo's Will weapon (or you can use any other Wand, which provides >10 energy on crit - but Chantodo is good, because of set with Force, which also has +10% crit chance, + it  has also 15 bonus to max energy..). Also make sure to get high attack speed (from gloves, rings, etc.). Another item that could potentially help, is a wizard cap with max Arcane Power bonus, or with Arc. Power on hit - such as Stormcrow. Just in case you don´t wear Mempo of Twilight or Andariel's Visage.

UPDATE - this strat will be even stronger in RoS!

Apparently, you need a very high critical chance (30% +) to make it work. be sure to get good rings + amulet. Also, Pinpoint Barrier from Energy Shield helps a lot.
- you need critical hits to keep your cooldowns low and also to recharge mana (arcane orb eats 35point a piece)

Wonderful skill choice for that is Frost Nova [Deep Freeze] - if you hit more that 4 enemies with the nova, your crit chance if increased by +15% - as well as your DPS. Than your are unstoppable.
So just make sure you have enough mobs around you.

Naturally, Arcane Orb [Arcane Orbit] with its 20 yards radius provides maximum dmg output (has better radius than anything, and Meteor Shower at other hand takes 50mana and is only 100% weapon damage to a target). Shock Pulse [Lighting Affinity] is your backup plan - you only use it when your energy is drained - which will never happen in big fights. Gives 3mana per hit. Neat.
In case of fighting really large chunks of creeps, also Blizzard [Stark Winter] can be used as crit hits  deliverer. Works wonders and you don´t need to click like idiot, as it is in action for 6 seconds, (8sec respectively if even Unrelenting Storm is used] passively.

This build is recommended with at least level 60 (30) + or with very decent gear, if you want to go at least MP5. The more enemies around you the better - you hit everything at once. Ranged opponents can be pesky, as well as for uber bosses, I would recommend other skills (guide coming soon).
If in doubts about your strength, you can use Astral Presence - Critical Mass - Prodigy (gives 4 mana per hit of signature spell) instead of my Astral Presence - Critical Mass - Cold Blooded (which increases dmg, even for other party members - today you nearly never play solo).

My complete skill tree:

And this is how it works:
Wizard at Fields of Misery
Novas in action.

Good luck and lot of fun with this build. For me personally, its much more enjoyable, that the classic wind freezer. Hopefully, this way will be even further buffed in upcoming 1.09 patch, which should be soon-ish (was already given +25% dmg in 1.07). Will see what Blizzard brings . . .
